A warm welcome
I’m Holly, a qualified counsellor and psychotherapist, and I’m also a parent carer myself.
I offer a warm, understanding space for parents and family carers who may be feeling anxious, emotionally stretched, isolated, burnt out or unsure where to put everything they are carrying.
Caring for someone with additional needs can bring deep love and meaning, but it can also bring exhaustion, uncertainty, grief, guilt, anger and the constant pressure to keep going. You do not have to carry all of this alone.
Maybe this sounds familiar.
You may be:
-
Feeling constantly overwhelmed, on edge or exhausted
-
Struggling with guilt, anger, sadness, grief or anxiety
-
Feeling isolated or misunderstood by family, friends or professionals
-
Navigating school issues, diagnosis journeys, appointments, forms or care systems
-
Supporting an autistic child, a child with ADHD, a disabled child, or an adult child with ongoing needs
-
Finding that your relationship, work, family life or identity has been affected
-
So used to focusing on everyone else that your own needs feel pushed aside
Counselling can offer a space to pause, talk honestly, and begin to make sense of what you are carrying.

-
Couples or relationships affected by caring responsibilities
You do not need to have a diagnosis, a clear label or the “right” words to seek support. We can begin with your experience as it is.
How counselling can help
Therapy with me is warm, collaborative and gently paced. You do not need to arrive knowing exactly what to say.
Together, we can explore what feels most important to you. This might include anxiety, burnout, grief, guilt, anger, trauma, relationship strain, identity, self-worth, or the emotional impact of caring.
Counselling can help you feel more heard, more grounded and more connected to yourself. It can also support you to understand patterns, process difficult experiences, and find ways of coping that feel realistic in the context of your life.
Support from someone who understands
My professional training and experience help me offer thoughtful, compassionate therapeutic support.
My lived experience as a parent carer also shapes the way I work. While every family’s experience is different, I understand something of the complexity, uncertainty and emotional weight that can come with caring for a child or family member with additional needs.
You are welcome here whether you want to talk directly about caring, or whether you need support with another part of your life from someone who understands the impact this role can have.
